Mr. Alva founded International Project Controls Corp, a Florida DBE certified company who are dedicated in providing unique consulting services for scheduling, cost and risk management to owners, program managers, construction managers, and general contractors. He has experience in all phases of design and construction and has participated in the preparation of comprehensive reviews of construction claims including issue investigation, delay assessment and costs analysis.   Mr. Alva has developed detailed CPM schedule analyses including as-planned and as-built schedules to determine cost and time entitlements for project delays.

Mr. Alva has developed baseline schedules, maintained project schedules, identified cost drivers on over-budget projects prior to contract award, and established online document repositories for use in litigation proceedings. Further, he has significant experience and expertise in the calculation and quantification of delay damages for extended performance costs and losses in labor productivity. Mr. Alva’s academic background and project experience is based in Risk Management assessments, modeling techniques and simulation.

Mr. Alva holds a Master of Industrial, Management and Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (2003). He is a certified general contractor (CGC) who is licensed in the state of Florida, as well as a certified Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) from AACEE.  In addition, Mr. Alva is skilled in the following current industry software programs: Oracle/Primavera (Project Management, P3, SureTrak and Pertmaster), and AutoCAD. He is fluent in Spanish.
